Internet and Television
Okay, so I follow a lot of science-fiction/fantasy/action tv shows, in other words: television that usually doesn't get a second season. (Usually for a good reason). But there is one thing I have issue with.
Posting video officially by the network to the internet 8 days after airing.
8 days.(I'm looking at you FOX)So in other words, if you miss the live airing, and have to watch it online, you're screwed.
Because when you finally see episode 1, episode 2 will have just finished airing. You can't contribute to the number of live viewers, because you don't want to skip an episode.
I guess you could always BUY the episode off itunes (but I usually reserve that right for Doctor Who only).
But I'm not going to for the sole reason that I'm completely turned off by this 8 day craziness.
No, I refuse.
I will watch those episodes on hulu/official site, but don't expect me to watch it live.
I would if I could, but you, the network is making it extremely difficult. It is their loss.
And the big companies wonder why anyone would put their copywrited stuff on megavideo/youtube.
(Notably I can count ABC out of this, that network is surprisingly progressive, in the sense that they have a very positive relationship with hulu/internet. )Rant over.
